Why do we live? Chiseling the Stone into the Immovable I. (Part 4)

granitesteps3“As the rules of conduct evolved by individuals are the source from which collective political action derives what moral standards it possesses, it would indeed be surprising if the relaxation of the standards of individual conduct were accompanied by a raising of the standards of social action. That there have been great changes is clear. Every generation, of course, puts some values higher and some lower than its predecessors. Which, however, are the aims which take a lower place now, which are the values which are now warned may give way if they come into conflict with others? Which kind of values figure less prominently in the picture of the future held out to us by the popular writers and speakers than they did in the dreams and hopes of our fathers?”––FA Hayek, The Road to Serfdom

Most times, dissent, an assertive questioning of authoritarian power, a pursuit to become a strong-willed, principled individual, with an education based solely upon what one finds is in his best interest, can take a person to the most alone place in the world. It is an outcast position, devoid of social connections, a loss of friends and family. Yet this position is immensely centering and is usually a platform for one’s understanding of just how much individual strength and morality it takes to navigate healthily through this world of injustice, coercion, and unoriginality, especially once he has grasped that his scope of thoughts and actions have been limited by other mortals, or the gang of mortals better known as the State.

I call this stage “Lighting the Fire.” Which is why it makes such a dominant foundation for the self. This is what keeps one warm on cold alone nights. What will remind him of the fact that CAN’T HEED is the unspoken answer for every compromise that is brought to his doorstep. Once the fire is lit, the fire never extinguishes, but rather is the light that will be one’s companion, to help guide through the darkness of this complex controlling world.

When one comes to the knowledge that he is being used as an interchangeable unit comprised of taxes and the DUTY to follow orders, he shall realize that he is looked at not as an individual, but as a disposable commodity. He is like cattle, pork, or a chicken, in that he is raised to feed others. He is fed by others so that he may feed others–ad infinitem. He is brought up through a systematic educational system to respect what people above him TELL him to do, TELL him to know, and then he receives a job, marries a woman, and they raise other children, so that the process continues (until revolution, see Malcolm Xs definition of revolution in Message to the Grassroots). He is raised in order to feed the State (This is why individuality is to be erased. Because the state does not want you to question or even realize this.). If he can live for 70-80 years, then through his hard-earned labor, at a tax-rate of 20-40% multiplied by a minimum of 50 years, then the State has made off of him fairly well. Why else would the State’s rhetoric be focused on social service? (We must do it FOR THE CHILDREN) Sacrificing one’s freedoms (IDENTITY? EARNINGS? CHARACTER?) for security? Why this push for equality–Not an equality of individuals, but an equilibrium that screams fairness throughout society? Its as though, because of, the whining of the masses for “fairness,” we have given everyone differing handicaps in order to play this “game” called life.

“An Ignorant but entertained populace is especially dangerous in a democracy, where the ignorant majority, basing their votes on 30-second TV commercials, can outvote the educated minority.” ~ Jim Trelease

Heroes? Mentors? These are the people raised up in society’s eyes for embodying the ideals held by the State–Police Morals. Morals that seems to elevate others before one. Altruistic Heroes. Neighborly Saviors. But they do not Save anything or anyone, and they are certainly not heroes, as they need other people to become elevated. In order to have these morals they profess, of putting others before themselves, their morals disappear once they are alone. These “heroes” are not self-sufficient, but rather are dependent upon others to prove their sacrifices are heroic.

Villains? What and whom are constantly under attack, and I do mean attack, by the superheroes of authority, are those who embrace Egoism. Those who think in terms of “I.” These Villains are labeled selfish (Societal Terrorists-compromising the State’s plan!!), and are in direct opposition to where amerika (the world) NEEDS to go, and fit with what the State has deemed as selfish qualities. Citizens of amerika, Save us from these Self-Seekers!! Bring them in Dead or Alive!!

“There is one aspect of the change in moral values brought about by the advance of collectivism which at the present time provides special food for thought. It is that the virtues which are held less and less in esteem and which consequently become rarer are precisely those on which the Anglo-Saxons justly prided themselves and in which they were generally recognized to excel. These virtues these people possessed were independence and self-reliance, individual initiative and local responsibility, the successful reliance on voluntary activity, noninterference with one’s neighbor and tolerance of the different and queer, respect for custom and tradition, and a healthy suspicion of power and authority.” FA Hayek, Road to Serfdom

(Here Hayek alludes to the virtue of “respect for custom and tradition,” which I must explain my deference to, especially in today’s age. Custom and tradition are usually based upon a culture’s societal strengths, or familial teachings. Since at least two generations have eclipsed since the early 1900’s, maybe even three generations, well, then those customs and traditions have been frauds, for they have perpetuated the state of our nation we have come to today. Whatever traditions we have used have failed this country, this republic, whatever one wants to call it, it is null and void. This country exists only as a simulation for what it should be. Now, there is a tradition and a custom that is favorable, and it is one that began around the early to mid 1700’s, and became finalized through a war called the REVOLUTIONARY War, and reached its pinnacle in the formation of the Constitution of the United States of America. One tradition I brandish on a daily basis, is the eternal creed, GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH! But other than that, its time to reinvent our own traditions, our own Revolutionary Wars.)

Why have I discussed then the importance of vaccinating the controlling aspects from a socially-diseased human? Because when he realizes HOW THINGS WORK–he will initially become blinded with emotions fueled by passionate anger, resentment, rage, denial–and those emotions will unreasonably stoke his fire–sending bullets of venomous vengeance through his veins–filling the soul, muscles, mind with an adrenaline of discontent, that will not be quenched, until and only until all resources, options, avenues, pleas, revolutions have led to success, or more likely, disaster, silence, and finally death. He will have become a slave to his emotions, quite possibly imprisoned in the State’s machinery of bars, left to think about how his morals wronged and endangered socially-doped up tax-paying members of society–er, herded, mindless sheep.

Pure Logic. Well-reasoned intelligence, free of emotions, free of other people’s inputs, and void of the social conscious. Those are the weapons the healthy, liberated, individual uses when coming to a decision.

In order to realize those traits, one must have a firm understanding of the foundations for How ALL Societies Operate. He will find these through the knowledge found in economics, philosophy, and by using one’s common sense. He will never become a fruitful free-thinking individual through the laziness of television brainwashing (surfing), newspaper reading, or listening to ANYTHING the congress, president, or anyone associated in the least with the government has to offer.

Liberty is a treasure hunt. It will take some time to get the whiff of the trail, but once one catches its scent, and holds the map, the path will lead one to the ONLY enriching precious pursuit to be found in the human life. And what one finds will be worth infinitely more than any gold, platinum, or silver: It will be priceless and fill the spirit and mind with the only renewable resource the human being can always find with an open mind and open eyes: Principles. Principles he must be willing to die for.

I had stated that his life was big boy words: And all those words are more than mere syllabic combinations uttered proudly with an air of confidence. Those words stand for something. All for Personal Responsibility. They are all symbolic of the individual on a hunt. He is on the hunt for himself. And he will never rest or become satisfied that he is complete, that he has perfected himself. He will never attain completion and satisfaction. The reward is not rest and relaxation, and monetary laziness, and a trough of normalcy. This life is a dedication to forever.

LESSON THREE: It really is all about Personal Responsibility. Responsible for this life. First and foremost, to be TRULY RESPONSIBLE, one must always be THINKING. How can I be responsible if I am just merely a cog in a machine. I am not just a part, but rather I am the culmination of Genius. “I am. Therefore I think (A. Rand).” This hunt is not a Pinata contest, rather it is a heightened quest where all senses must be utilized at all times. This Responsibility is about LIVING! Its standing up straight and tall. Its hearing the different sounds. Sniffing out the bullshit used to control people. Reaching out and touching the fearful shaky hands and knowing those are not mine! Its about risk, intuition, and insight. Understanding that to stand up for one’s freedom and individuality is not heroic, but is Justice. Collective Responsibility equals Individual Irresponsibility. Personal Responsibility will equate to Social Responsible Decision Making. As FA Hayek drives home this point on Personal Responsibility:

“Freedom to order our own conduct in the sphere where material circumstances force a choice upon us, and responsibility for the arrangement of our own life according to our own conscience, is the air in which alone moral sense grows and in which moral values are daily re-created in the free decision of the individual. Responsibility, not to a superior, but to one’s conscience, the awareness of a duty not exacted by compulsion, the necessity to decide which of the things one values are to be sacrificed to others, and to bear the consequences of one’s own decision, are the very essence of any morals which deserve the name.”

And Responsibility includes all those Big Boy words: Dedication. Uncompromising. Responsible. Introspective. Deliberative. Solitary. Perseverance. Earnest. Accountable. Pursuant. Arduous. Demonstrative. And Rewarding. If done properly this life can end Triumphantly, peacefully, and with a mind able to move on and understand its purpose.

The Introspection is the eternal building of his mind into a tower aimed at the stars. He first builds his mind by contemplating his surrounding, recounting what he knows that makes him a man, reflecting on what he is, has been, and could be. He builds his mind with Austrian Economic texts that strengthen his logic process, and jump starts his mind to answer questions he has never thought important. He reads, not to form his thoughts, but to add other great thinkers into his mind, playing with the foundation in his mind that is causing him to no longer view this world as a vehicle meant to transport him to his worthless death, but rather it is one where he lives every day thoughtfully and coherently aware of all his actions, and that he moves and acts in accordance with what he and his mind chooses to do, not because he has been directed there by coercion or pressure from outside forces. Those men’s minds and writings are precisely the foundation seeds needed to plant and nourish the young seedlings of knowledge and freedom.

His life is Solitary. Alone because he is One. He is individual. He will forever be Solitary. Whether he allows others into his life or not, that is his choice, but he will always be Solitary. Decisions are meant for one to come to upon his own power, not collectively. If a collective comes to a consensus by its individuals, then all the better, but their consensus has not been through coercion, but through each individual seeing the right answer.

This Life is not easy. I cannot repeat this enough. It is Arduous. It is a rocky path. It is a dry desert that is never ending–and the only water available is located within one’s mind. It is blisters, sweat, cuts, and long climbs of failure. But the failure becomes less and less with Deliberation, and well-laid plans. A strong mind that uses as much preparation as possible will becomes one’s best friend he has ever had. Preparation for success. Preparation for failure. One can never be too prepared. Prepared for anything. A Well-Cared for Mind will lead one through any type of trial and tribulation, and lead one to success, even if it has been painstaking, thorough, and revolutionary in concept and actuality.

If we want something, we have to constantly push for it. We have to really want it, or else our desire abates, and we move onto another competing wish. Well, as the phrase goes, persistence is the key. Perseverance Pays. Want to feel the closest to God you’ll ever get? Try holding freedom within every corner of your mind, and using that as the basis for all your actions. No matter how good or how bad things are, the plan is the same, Persevere through the shit-n-piss-filled trenches of popular opinion towards individual enlightenment and freedom, no matter what.

Nothing exists with Compromises. Compromises sound to me like a long word for fairness. Agreements. Sacrificing. The Principled Man stands behind his decisions. Not ignorantly. Or stubbornly. But he stands behind them LOGICALLY. Compromise eventually leads to the wearing down of one’s foundation, to where he has given up and forgotten even who he was. Compromise leads to Needing others. Compromise is a lack of confidence. Compromise is faulty conflict-resolution skills. Compromise is a Value/Virtue in today’s America!!! Nowhere in the word Compromise do I sense anything that delivers the virtue of Responsibility. Compromising is for the weak-minded, herd mentality. I loathe Compromise and Compromisers. LOATHE.

More and More, I am beginning to understand that this life, in order to be lived successfully, revolves around the crucial point of Illusion. Whomever presents the most believable illusion, drugs the masses. It is the way of Propaganda. When the truth can be painted with a more pleasing palette, it can then be presented in a much brighter picture to the public. People want Positivity. People want Instant Gratification. No one wants to wait. Patience is a forgotten process in decision-making. People want to get on with their lives, and have others take care of the details. Thus, the world of Illusion. Illusion is the all-encompassing Power. The Morphine for the Masses. Combine Illusion with Fear and the Human Need for Security, and the State can bring a Nation to its knees. No one looks for detail anymore, but it is crucial for believability. It is crucial for credibility purposes. On the edges of the Illusion there lies truths, facts, people with degrees, and Nobel Prizes. But at the Core, there is indecision, Lies, false theories, and the direction of the destruction of all that was once considered free. With the best illusions, one can accomplish anything. Truth gets us nowhere. Yet, it is crucial to understand how to manipulate truth in order to create the most believable Illusions. Welcome to the Politicians that have stolen, looted and murdered in the name of Freedom. And look to your left or right, and there you will see the people who have nodded their heads and supported the red white and blue, and opened their wallets in the name of Taxes, and the appropriation of their hard-earned labors. All Sheep want is to not be eaten by the Wolf, even though albeit to their feeble minds, they have no idea what it is that is gnawing away at their toes, one by one, and then slowly devouring their legs, and soon, their entire spirits. When we compromise to keep the main foreign enemies at bay, we allow those enemies closest to us, even closer.

I am learning these steps as I write them too. This is not a program I have mastered in the least. But it is one that I meditate upon with daily confidence. I make mistakes in judgment. I do not follow this program as rigorously as I should. But this is exactly why Perseverance is my friend. He helps me to realize that this takes work, and that even I can be led astray by my weaknesses. I meditate daily upon my strengths and weaknesses, and each day I become stronger. What I do know though is that I have never found a friend whom I can trust as wholly as the one I have found in myself. I can’t understand how I came to unlock these secrets within myself, but I don’t know what I would’ve done if I hadn’t. As I ride my bike through the streets, whether beneath the glorious Sun, the stars of night, rain, snow, I literally yell and scream at the top of my lungs, so that every being can hear my energetic human roar. I am ALIVE. I am FREE. And No One will ever take my Freedom away from me. When talking with me, when dealing with me, one must always remember that one is dealing with someone who’s foundation is the fact that: “Liberty is more valuable than Life, because what is life without Liberty.”

Our seeds are planted, all we can do is let time and our I-Ness take root. Where our Motto is–I Will Never Let Myself Down.

Typically, I do not concern myself with what another man is doing, unless he infringes upon me, or tries to take something from me. I especially should never have to concern myself with what the president is doing, because in my mind there should never be a president. The problems this country experiences abroad and within its borders have been created entirely by government intervention. And right now, with my eyes blackened, nose bleeding, and my wallet having been stolen, MY Freedom is feeling VERY threatened. Do not ever believe that I will just sit back and let these thefts and fights continue without retribution. And it will not be because my feelings have been hurt, or that I am filled with a sense of rage. No, my battles will be delivered coherently and according to however my logic dictates. For the LAST TIME, there is No AUTHORITY above me.

Finally for those who try to contradict Individualism with a firm code of Moral strength, let me stop you right now with all of your collectivist marxist regurgitation, and send you back to where you learned your so-called Morals. I leave you with a TRUE defining of Morals:

“What our generation is in danger of forgetting is not only that morals are of necessity a phenomenon of individual conduct but also that they can exist only in the sphere in which the individual is free to decide for himself and is called upon voluntarily to sacrifice personal advantage to the observance of a moral rule. Outside the sphere of individual responsibility there is neither goodness nor badness, neither opportunity for moral merit nor the chance of proving one’s conviction by sacrificing one’s desires to what one thinks right. Only when we ourselves are responsible for our own interests and are free to sacrifice them has our decision moral value. We are neither entitled to be unselfish at someone else’s expense nor is there any merit in being unselfish if we have no choice. The members of society who in all respects are made to do the good thing have no title to praise. “–FA Hayek, The Road to Serfdom.
